Here is a short list of some of my favorite things to do when the big one hits:

1] pack a picnic lunch and haul everyone's ski gear into the car, praise the Lord for all-wheel drive and hit the slopes.

2] shovel a giant mound of snow and carve out mini "toboggan" run troughs of windy tracks just the size for super-balls. bridges, tunnels, jumps, ski lifts made of toothpicks and yarn. spray it with water overnight and in the a.m. have timed races. way fun that can last as long as the pile does.

3] if your electricity hasn't gone out, pretend it has. turn off all of the lights and light a giant fire. take the coleman propane camp stove out of storage and make pancakes for dinner.

4] after the kids are asleep, go snow shoeing in the moonlight

and finally, a quote from my mom, who has recovered from (this is the short list) a brain aneurism, bilateral knee replacements and stage 4 cancer... "we all need to make at least one snow angel every winter. crawl if you have to, but don't let the season go without making at least one."knotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00124094097081628258noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2159441746357086583.post-73789898027672671792008-01-15T16:53:00.000-05:002008-01-15T16:53:00.000-05:00Thanks for the tag.
